Palaio ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What We Collect
- Account data: your email address and display name when you sign up.
- Study data: annotations, journal entries, and prompted responses you write in the app. This data belongs to you.
- Usage data: anonymous analytics via PostHog to help us improve the product — pages visited, links and buttons clicked, and a recording of how you move through the site. Recordings mask anything you type, so the text you enter is never captured. Analytics start when you arrive; you can switch them off using the "No thanks" button on the notice at the bottom of the page, and we will not collect anything further on that browser.
- Email data: whether you opened an email we sent you and which links in it you clicked, along with the email app or browser you opened it in. Opens are measured with a small invisible image in the message, and links are routed through our email provider before sending you on to where you were going. We use this to work out which emails are worth sending and which are not. We do not record your location or IP address. Our welcome, milestone, and group emails carry an unsubscribe link at the bottom — using it stops those emails and this tracking together.
How We Use Your Data

Your data is stored securely via Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. Your study data is never used to train AI models.
